Carmen and I

My name is Bradley James Dixon and I am a Melburnian music fan, web developer, philanthropist, entrepreneur, soldier of fortune and all-round gentleman.

I have unhealthy interests in the following subjects: listening to and/or talking about music, web design, the internet in general, Skittles, Yogo, Coke, my girlfriend Carmen, and the colour green.

In 2001, Andrew Saltmarsh and I created OzProg, a website and community centred around progressive rock and metal in Australia. When we conceived the website I had no idea what I was doing; that's still the case now, but these days I have people asking my opinion on all things musical as if I'm some kind of "expert".

In 2007 I began work at Fist2Face, Melbourne's best alternative/punk/rock music store, and since then I have been happily supplying Melbourne's angsty teens with their weekly fix of emo and hardcore.

Somehow, between these two roles, I still don't feel like I have enough opportunity to air my every thought and feeling on music; hence this website.

About solarblaze

This website is not built on any existing blogging software. It was built from scratch using the following technologies and programs:

I'm relatively sure that solarblaze's HTML and CSS is valid, although some older posts might have the odd straggling HTML 4 tag. It displays best in Mozilla Firefox, thanks to Internet Explorer's inability to recognise the :hover pseudo-class on divs, and the fact that it inexplicable pulls the ol' switcheroo on dotted borders, displaying them as dashed.

Icons used on solarblaze are from FamFamFam's Silk family.
